LOU HECKLER The Prince of The Pause!

You do not want to miss this meeting!

What can you learn form attending December 11th meeting?  You will learn the importance of word-smithing your speeches...how even a single word has the power to influence and teach. You will learn the power of pauses...how to give your audience time to absorb the thought, feeling, or concept you are conveying. You will learn what Lou Heckler has learned over a lifetime of presentations that earned him the respect of his clients, audiences, and his peers in the speaking industry.

"At a past National Speakers Association conference, I attended a three hour, intensive workshop with Lou that influenced my speaking style forever! It was so outstanding that after learning hundreds of ideas in the session, I bought the CD audio-taped recording so I could listen to him again and again when I returned home.  I can't wait to hear Lou again!"
Mary McCormack

Attendance is limited to the first twenty-five individuals who RSVP to Zelda Greenberg.  Because we know that the room will be full, I encourage you to  contact Zelda today to reserve your place.  We don't want you to miss this opportunity to learn from a true master of the platform!

Important: NSA 2009 Convention Information

What does YOUR convention look like?

Pretend for just a moment that you are on the convention team for 2009 in Phoenix. What do you need the most right now to succeed in your speaking business?

- See and experience top-of-the-line main stage talent?
- Exposure to ideas on speaking, marketing, and business across the board? (I call that sponge mode.)
- Gather with a group you have created around public seminars, storytelling or direct mail marketing?
- Connect with one or more PEGs (Professional Expert Groups) for targeted networking?
- Find the people who can help you refine and implement on something that is new to you?
- Schedule one-on-one time with colleagues to develop strategic partnerships or help you redefine your strategic positioning?
- Implement ideas while you are still at convention?
- Interact with others to flesh out the ideas you get and take them a step further?
- Swim in the pool and go for early morning walks?

Guess what…whatever your answer, that is just what we are doing in July at convention.

How can that be?

Because we have planned a convention for the DIY crowd…Design it Yourself!

- We are inviting you to leave a session if you can tell in the first few minutes that it is not just what you need. Have your second and third choice picked and know where they are to make a quick switch.
- We are labeling sessions as to topic (speaking, marketing, business and other) and as to level in that topic (basic, intermediate or advanced). And we are inviting presenters in intermediate and advanced sessions to politely refer basic questioners to another source.
- We are replacing the end-of-day content-heavy concurrent sessions on Monday and Tuesday with implementation, networking and processing time. This year, more than ever before, you can go home with things already done and collaborations created.

Being on the convention planning committee, as you now are, requires some work. Give some thought to just what you need now. Then look at what is on offer and plan to attend what you just can’t miss (stay tuned this will be announced soon!). Next, fill in the blanks with what will help you the most.

At the Orlando conference, I had three 45 minute sessions with people I respect who are knowledgeable about what I do and about my niche. While often I have been the giver in these one-on-ones, this time I was the receiver. It is a benefit of NSA that you can do either or both.

Join us in convention in Phoenix, July 18-21. Give. Receive. Design-it-yourself!
